NAR Code of Ethics and Fair Housing Training Requirements

 

Current Cycle – January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2027

Future Cycle – January 1, 2028 to December 31, 2030

 

REALTORS® are required to complete Code of Ethics Training of not less than 2 hours, 30 minutes of instructional time. The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®. Training may be completed through NAR’s online courses or through another method, such as online or classroom courses via local/state associations.

REALTORS® are required to complete Fair Housing/Anti-Bias Training upon becoming a member and every 3 years thereafter, coinciding with the Code of Ethics training timeline. This requirement is in addition to the Code of Ethics training. Qualified training must be of at least 2 hours of instructional time. The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®. This requirement began January 1, 2025, with a deadline of December 31, 2027.

NOTE: Free classes taken through NAR will not earn continuing education credit in the state of Illinois. If you would like to earn CE credit, you must complete a course approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Division of Real Estate (DRE).
